Destination Karminia.
By Maureen Simpson.

Maureen Simpson is a famous British writer. Her book “Destination Karminia” was published in 2011.

It is about three teenagers: Jasmine, Stella and Simon. They loved archaeology, and they were very happy when they knew that they could go on the trip of their lives.

One day they were together, when Jasmine looked at her computer and she saw she had an e-mail. It said: “WANTED: Internet surfers who love archaeology. Are you ready to leave inmediatly? Destination: Karminia. If you want to find out more go to www.karminia.co.uk”. Karminia had disappeared because of an earthquake. When they were reading it, they saw that it belonged to Sonia Peng, an archaeology professor at York University.
They decided to visit Professor Peng. She told them they were not the only people who wanted to find Karminia: Philip Cummins wanted it too.
After they talked with Sonia about Karminia, they decided how to start the adventure.
They started it, at 6.am. But they didn’t notice that Philip Cummins was listening to them. Since that day, he started to watch them, every step they took.
To find Karminia, first they had to find four pieces of terracotta. Once they had found all the pieces, they went into a cave, and then, they found Karminia.
When they got into the cave, they saw that Philip Cummins was there.
Simon tricked him, with a false gun. He and his helpers left Karminia, and the teenagers and Professor Peng were the discoverers of Karminia. Then they created a web site, where you can see and read everything about Karminia, also you can take a virtual tour of the city.

Personally, I didn’t like the book, so much, because it is told abruptly, everything happens quickly, and you don’t want to keep reading, because it is so unreal too. Reading other books, you want to know what is going to happen, and in Destination Karminia, it is too obvious what is going to happen.
