Computers and the Internet

Many people use computers and the Internet as a way of communicating and working . We are going to do some activities to expand our vocabulary related to computing.


Activity one: Read and listen to the list of words that appear in the following link .

Activity two: Then do the exercise below the list.



Activity three: In groups, think about and write down three reasons why we use computers, two advantages and two disadvantages of computers.  You can read this material to pick up ideas:

Advantages and Disadvantages of Computers

Use Google translator if you have problems with some vocabulary

Activity four :  Competition! Let's have fun challenging our 
puzzle solving skills. Print the puzzle and solve it. 


Activity five:   Time to write. There is a digital gap between adults and young people. Write a paragraph in a Word document answering these questions:
1. Have your parents and your grandparents ever used a computer?
2- When and why?
3- Is your attitude to computers different from your parents' and granparents'? Explain.


Activity six:We need pictures or posters to illustrate computing vocabulary in the computing room. Go to this link where there are lots of words and pictures. Organize in groups to decide which group will illustrate the different words. Open a Word document and pick up pictures from Google images.
