DESTINATION KARMINIA
Destination Karminia is an adventure book
written by Maureen Simpson, a dedicated kid’s books writer. She was born in Great Britain .

The story begins in
In my opinion, the book isn’t very nice. A
good book should make you doubt about the next parts, and make you keep
reading. But Destination Karminia is too predictable! The plot of the book is
great. I love adventure books, but this story didn’t attract me at all! I guess
it should be a bit different.

Destination
Karminia
By
Maureen Simpson
Maureen Simpson is a British writer of children’s
books. We chose Destination Karminia for a review because It’s an interesting reading.
Professor
Peng is a young woman who is looking for a lost city called Karminia. She needs
help for find it. A group of archaeologists (Simon, Stella and Jasmine) see her
email so they meet her and start to search for this place. After this, they
travel to find it. While they are travelling they find clues of the location of
Karminia. but they are not the only ones
who are looking for Karminia. A man called Philip Cummins and his helpers Jim
and Tony are also interested in this city and will follow them.
The biggest
weakness is that it can be boring because it is predictable. Anyway, it is a
short reading that you can read in one day. A strength is that little children
and adults will enjoy this book if they are interested in archaeology
In our opinion, the book is boring and
predictable. Also, the characters do not have real feelings so you don’t know
how do they feel, what they do in life and it’s not so interesting.

Destination
Karminia.
By Maureen Simpson.
Maureen Simpson is a famous British writer. Her book “Destination
Karminia” was published in 2011.
It is about three teenagers: Jasmine, Stella and Simon. They loved archaeology,
and they were very happy when they knew that they could go on the trip of their
lives.
One day they were together, when Jasmine looked at her computer and she
saw she had an e-mail. It said: “WANTED:
Internet surfers who love archaeology. Are you ready to leave inmediatly? Destination:
Karminia. If you want to find out more go to www.karminia.co.uk”. Karminia had disappeared
because of an earthquake. When they were reading it, they saw that it belonged to
Sonia Peng, an archaeology professor at York University .
They decided to visit Professor Peng. She told them they were not the
only people who wanted to find Karminia: Philip Cummins wanted it too.
After they talked with Sonia about Karminia, they decided how to start
the adventure.
They started it, at 6.am. But they didn’t notice that Philip Cummins was
listening to them. Since that day, he started to watch them, every step they
took.
To find Karminia, first they had to find four pieces of terracotta. Once
they had found all the pieces, they went into a cave, and then, they found
Karminia.
When they got into the cave, they saw that Philip Cummins was there.
Simon tricked him, with a false gun. He and his helpers left Karminia,
and the teenagers and Professor Peng were the discoverers of Karminia. Then they
created a web site, where you can see and read everything about Karminia, also
you can take a virtual tour of the city.
Personally, I didn’t like the book, so much, because it is told
abruptly, everything happens quickly, and you don’t want to keep reading,
because it is so unreal too. Reading other books, you want to know what is
going to happen, and in Destination Karminia, it is too obvious what is going
to happen.

Destination Karminia
By Maureen
Simpson
Maureen Simpson is a
famous British author of children's books.
The characters are just
7: the main characters are three teenagers (Stella, Jasmine and Simon), a
university professor, Sonia Peng, and three villains (Jim, Tony and Philip
Cummins, the boss).
The book is about three
adventurous friends, who received an e-mail from Sonia Peng, a university
professor that wanted to find a lost city. This city had disappeared because of
an earthquake. It was called Karminia, and it was situated in Ben Nevis , Scotland .
They went on an
expedition to find it, but they had a problem with Phill Cummins and his
followers, Tony and Jim. They wanted to find Karminia too, following the
archeologist steps.
This book has strengths
and weaknesses:
The strengths are that it
has a lot of adventures and magic and it’s quite interesting. And the
weaknesses are that some parts are boring. It’s very short there is not much
descriptions about the characters, is very predictable so you can imagine what
will happen before you read it.
Our opinion
about the book is that is a little boring and predictable. If you like short,
fantasy books you should read it.
