Conditional sentences

Zero Conditional describes what happens in general.

For example : If you sit in the sun for a long time, you get burned (here I'm talking about every time a person sits in the sun - the burning is a natural consequence of the sitting)

Activity ONE Complete the zero conditional sentences with the verb in brackets. Use contractions where possible. Link

First Conditional describes things  that I think are likely to happen in the future. There is a real possibility that this condition will happen. It is used for real possibility

For example : If she studies harder, she'll pass the exam (the teacher thinks it is possible she will study harder and so she'll pass)

Activity TWO Put the correct form of each verb in brackets into the box. LINK

Second Conditional talks about things that I don't think will really happen. It's subjective; it depends on my point of view.

For example : If she studied harder, she would pass the exam ( the teacher  thinks that she won't study harder, or it's very unlikely, and so she won't pass)

Activity THREE  Choose the correct option for these 2nd Conditional sentences. LINK

Activity FOUR Decide if the sentences are 1st or 2nd conditional ones LINK

Activity FIVE: Time for music! Put on your headphones, listen to the song below and take notes of the conditional sentences that appear in the video. Be ready to say if they are first or second conditional sentences.

DESTINATION KARMINIA

Destination Karminia is an adventure book written by Maureen Simpson, a dedicated kid’s books writer. She was born in Great Britain.
Cuadro de texto: Ben Nevis, Scotland   The story begins in York, with three guys –Jasmine, Simon and Stella– who are very interested in archeology. Suddenly, they receive an e-mail from Professor Peng –Sonia–, who gives them the best opportunity to follow their interests! The plan is to travel to Ben Nevis to find an ancient city… Karminia. But they aren’t alone on the trip! Two men –Jim and Tony–, hired by Philip Cummins, follow them there, because he wants to win a lot of money telling the people he found it, and making them pay for the visit. Anyways, the four adventurers don’t let them do what they want!
In my opinion, the book isn’t very nice. A good book should make you doubt about the next parts, and make you keep reading. But Destination Karminia is too predictable! The plot of the book is great. I love adventure books, but this story didn’t attract me at all! I guess it should be a bit different.
